DEPUTY COMMANDANT SLAVF VISITS 14TH (VOLUNTEER) BATTALION THE GEMUNU WATCH

Major General S N Samarawickrama KSP made a formal visit to the 14th Battalion the Gemunu Watch on 28th of February 2022 upon his assuming office as the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on an invitation of the Commanding Officer of 14th Battalion the Gemunu Watch, Lieutenant Colonel GHAI Wijerathna RWP RSP GW.

On his arrival to the premises, Major General Nihal Samarawickrama KSP was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 14th (V) GW along with the former Commanding Officers of the 14th (V) GW who are currently holding responsible appointments as Colonel Coordinating Officer of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna), Civil Affairs Officer of 61 Division, Chief Instructor of Battalion Training School - 55 Division and Staff Officer I of Kotelawala Defence University Hospital.

A Guard Turnout was accorded in honour of the Deputy Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force by the troops of 14 (V) GW and it was followed by a tree planting programme in the camp premises by the Senior Officer to mark his visit to the battalion.

During the visit, Deputy Commandant SLAVF addressed the serving members of the battalion spelling out the procedural actions taken in developing the battalion while disseminating clear directives.

The programme of the day was underway with strict adherence to the health directives issued for COVID – 19.
