MAJOR GENERAL SS WADUGE RWP RSP USP ndu psc ASSUMES DUTIES AS COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Major General SS Waduge RWP RSP USP ndupscassumed duties as the 46th Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force amidst military formalities accomplished at the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force on 10 October 2021.

The day’s proceedings in connection with the assumption of duties as Commandant began with reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded in his honour by the troops of the Gemunu Watchand the Senior Officer was received by Major General J D C G Jayasinghe KSV KSP - Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Brigadier PN Godellawatta USP psc -Principal Staff Officer on his arrival to the camp premises.

Amidst invoking the blessings of religious rituals, the Senior Officer placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his new appointment at the auspicious time. Marking his assumption of duties as Commandant SLAVF, the Senior Officer planted a sapling to signify his assumption of the office.

A formal gathering of the troops was formed for his inaugural address and the Senior Officer asserted his overview upon the future upliftment of the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters attended the occasion with bliss of compliments on his new appointment.

The function was organized following the health directives issued for COVID 19 .
