The large swaths of land of which 55 acres belong to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) have been surveyed realizing the purview of the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda. The necessity of survey the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force has been identified as a primary requirement in all aspects as it serves the foremost assistance for the smooth function of the administration.
Selected 06 Other Ranks who belong to the Regiment of the Sri Lanka Artillery and 03 Other Ranks from the Sri Lanka Engineers participated in the training session which was being conducted from 05 June 2021 to 12 July 2021 at the Headquarters of the SLAVF. The training session was conducted by the Registered Licensed Surveyor Captain WA H JW Silva who performs duties at the 4th (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Engineers. Concluding the training session, the team could successfully complete the project of 3D Land Survey using a modern Total Station Technical Equipment, Computer aided Survey Drafting using AutoCAD therein prepared the 3D Survey Plan of the existing land along with the future extensions of construction.
Certificates which are credited to future requisites of the organization were conferred the survey team by the Commandant. Expressing a note of gratitude, the Commandant extended his pleasure for the accomplishment of the expected task and mostly contented with the opportunity of career enhancement received for the attendees. Major General Christy Jayasinghe, the Deputy Commandant SLAVF also attended awarding certificates for the members of the team.
Senior Officers of the HQ SLAVF and Other Ranks attended the event complying with the health directives issued for COVID 19.
