OTHER TWO MORE REMARKABLE PIECES OF WRITING UNVEILED TO THE MILITARY LITERATURE

“Vavuniya Puravidya Urumaya” and “Lakdiva Sangrama Ithihasaya” authored by Major Sarath Jayawardene were presented to the Commandant Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 25 June 2021 at the Headquarters.

Major Sarath Jayawardene earned his Master of Arts in Heritage from the University of Kelaniya and his proficiency in the respective fields of studies has been grounded to bring out these two writings which eliminate the Military History as well as the Sri Lankan history.

“Vavuniya Puravidya Urumaya” portrays the identified historical places which has been embedded on the landscape, undefined for decades, in Vavuniya enumerating a source of record to the history of this land. Indeed, the work originated on the trace of military scenario would mark an outstanding outreach to the heritage and the history of this motherland. “Lakdiva Sangrama Ithihasaya”, the annals of historical occurrences from the arrival of the King Vijaya to the Humanitarian operation, the ultimate operation which caused for safeguarding this land from the ruthless LTTE terrorist, composed as the second work by the author is a significant publication which earmarks the Military Literature among the readers.
