The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) as the utmost establishment in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force which facilitates an array of streams for upgrading the Training and Wisdom, deserves the salutation of every member of the Volunteer Force and the organization for execution of its prime role and task to the best interest of the Sri Lanka Army. Enhancing its way forward, it is commendable that the Training School of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force is being resourced and upgraded with conducive environment which reinforces qualitative training under every command. Accordingly, Commandant, SLAVF Major General J M U D Jayasinghe made a formal visit as the Chief Guest to the Volunteer Force Training School on the invitation of the Commandant VFTS Colonel H A Keerthinatha RSP KSP psc at Diyathalawa on 17 February 2021 (Wednesday). In honour of Commandant SLAVF a Guard Turnout was accorded on his arrival to the camp premises and he was warmly received by Commandant VFTS.
The inauguration of “Wisdom Avenue” Officers Study Centre which accumulates innumerable significance for stimulated teaching - learning process in the Training School was marked by the Commandant SLAVF with the participation of Deputy Commandant, Major General J D C G Jayasinghe KSV KSP, Inspector of Training, Brigadier SN Samarawickrama KSP and Senior Officers of SLAVF. “Wisdom Avenue” is affiliated with three Smart Classrooms where hundred (100) students can be accommodated and consists with modern facilities for the instructors and the students. As well, Commandant inaugurated ‘Green View’ accommodation complex for senior Officers.
Addressing the troops he highlighted on the Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy 2020-2025, the Army Military Strategy and directed upon the accountability as a member for the upliftment of the Volunteer Force. Further, he extended his best compliments for the future alignment of the VFTS.
