AN AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON PREVENTION OF ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

An awareness programme on ‘Alcohol and Drug Prevention’ was conducted on 12 August 2020 at the Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force under the guidance of Major General P R Wanigasooriya VSV USP ndu USACGSC, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

The lecture was conducted by Colonel Administration SLAVF Colonel M T K R Silva who is a qualified Senior Officer in Drug Counselling.

Addressing this major issue which is a contemporary challenge, the training day programme was structured for educating on prevention of Drug and Alcohol. The highlights on adverse complications resulted in drug abuse and its effects as well as prevention methodologies were covered during the lecture.

The programme provided Officers and Other Ranks an eye opening exposure on significance of prevention of Drugs and Alcohol.
