MAJOR GENERAL T S BANGSAJAYAH RWP RSP VSV USP ndu TAKES OVER DUTIES AS COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Major General T S Bangsajayah RWP RSP VSV USP ndu assumed duties as the 42nd Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force amidst military formalities accomplished at the Volunteer Force Headquarters premises, Seethawaka today (01 June).

The day’s proceedings in connection with the assumption of duties as the Commandant began with reviewing of the Guard Turnout accorded in his honour by the troops of the Gemunu Watch. The Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by Major General K P Nugegoda RWP RSP, Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Subsequently, the Senior Officer, amidst invoking blessings of all religious rituals, placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his new appointment at the auspicious time. Later, the Senior Officer planted a sapling of a tree to signify his inauguration of the office.

The Senior Officer was accorded to a tea attended by Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Principal Staff Officer and all Branch heads of the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, along with the serving members and Other Ranks of the Headquarters.

A gathering of Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion to congratulate on his new appointment while keeping the health recommendations, during COVID 19 pandemic situations in the country.​
