THE VOLUNTEER FORCE SALUTES THE RETIRING SENIOR OFFICERS

In honour of dedicated service to the Sri Lanka Army and the motherland, outstanding senior officers who are retiring, were felicitated at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 21 July 2025.

The senior officers felicitated on this occasion included Colonel S D Kolombaarachchi, Lieutenant Colonel D S P Wijesinghe , Lieutenant Colonel N G A J M Samarasinghe RSP KSP and Lieutenant Colonel M A A S Bandara RSP.

Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), presided over the occasion warmly welcomed the retiring senior officers, and highly acknowledged their unwavering commitment, exemplary service, and significant contributions during their distinguished careers, encompassing both wartime and post-war periods.

The Commandant SLAVF awarded special mementos to the outgoing senior officers in appreciation of their commendable service to the Sri Lanka Army.

The operational success and institutional development of the Sri Lanka Army have been significantly strengthened by the unwavering dedication and leadership of these senior officers, who have served as pillars of strength. The accomplishments of the Sri Lanka Army have been greatly influenced by their commitment, professionalism, and integrity, and their leadership has fostered unity and camaraderie among their peers.

The Sri Lanka Army ever salutes the senior officers who have proudly completed their excursion of duties in uniform and for their unwavering loyalty and exemplary service for the beloved motherland.

The event was attended by Brigadier P M S Karunaratne psc – the Principal Staff Officer, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters SLAVF.

The gathering extended their heartfelt wishes for the retiring officers’ good health, lasting prosperity, and a fulfilling life in retirement.
