The Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (HQ SLAVF) conducted an awareness programme to raise awareness and educate the serving members on the initiative of "Clean Sri Lanka" which is being revitalized under the leadership of the Commander of the Army under the guidelines of Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 15 May 2025 at the Multi - Functional Hall , HQ SLAVF.
This initiative, spearheaded by the government on the president's directions, aims to address key socio - economic challenges, and combating corruption.The Clean Sri Lanka Project is a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing the Sri Lankan image into a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable country. The initiative seeks to create a culture of cleanliness and environmental stewardship, driving both behavioral change (Physical, Psychological, and Emotional) and systemic improvements in a culture of responsibility, ethics, and values towards creating a better society.
The programme was resourced by Lieutenant Colonel P A G A P Madiththapola who belongs the Gemunu Watch with necessary directives. The programme got underway with the close supervision of Major General B M R J Bandara- the Deputy Commandant of the Volunteer Force. The occasion was attended by Colonel Training, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks of the Headquarters in the Volunteer Force
