VOLUNTEER FORCE GIVES AWAY FINANCIAL GRANTS FOR STUDENTS

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force organized a ceremony of donating financial grants for children of fallen and serving members of the Volunteer Force and its civil staff with the intention of enhancing their future educational endeavours. Awarding financial grants were taken place at a simple ceremony held at the Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 27 April 2022 with the gracious presence of the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu as the Chief Guest.

This occasion was witnessed by a large gathering of senior officers, invitees and parents. Proceedings of the ceremony were successfully accomplished and 39 beneficiaries who are eligible for the university education in the year 2020 were awarded a financial grant which is Rs. 50,000 in value per each in a cheque.

The Commandant addressing the gathering appreciated the educational feats of the students while emphasizing the true value and the requirement of achieving the higher education. Further, he emphasized that the children who are schooling of the fallen and serving members of the Volunteer Force including the civil staff are entitled to receive financial grants and the establishment willingly hands in upgradation of their education.

The entire educational awards were funded by the dividends generated by “Virusaviya” Insurance Scheme which is functioned by the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Sri Lanka Insurance.
