TRIBUTE TO THE IMMORTALIZED MEMORIES OF VALOUR

The memory of War Heroes who laid the lives at the battle of Kokavil Army Camp was paid homage by Major General WPADW Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment gracing the annual commemoration ceremony on 11 July 2024 at the Kokavil Fallen War Heroes Monument premises.

The valour of Captain Saliya Aladeniya PWV SLSR bred by the 3rd Volunteer Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and his soldiers reverberates the supreme sacrifice of battle harden warriors made voluntarily for the national integrity and the sovereignty of this motherland at the Kokavil Camp established for guarding the television relay station overrun by LTTE on 11July 1990.

Being an exemplary precedent who spelled out the first lesson of velour to the legendry battles of history in the Sri Lanka Army, Captain Saliya Aladeniya subsequently endowed with “Parama Weera Vibhushanaya "(PWV) (Supreme Heroism Decoration) equivalent to the 'British Victoria Cross', and a jump step promotion posthumously

This solemn ceremony unfolded aligning with the military formalities and the beloveds whose hearts eternally weep for their loving souls paid honour placing floral tributes in front of their memories of structured.

The occasion was attended Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and family members of the fallen War Heroes.
