THIRTY-ONE QUARTERMASTERS PASS OUT FROM SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE TRAINING SCHOOL

The Quartermaster Commission Courses are designed and conducted by the Sri Lanka Army with the aim of transforming qualified and disciplined Warrant Officers as Quartermasters under the directions and blessings of the Commander of the Army and Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF).

The Quartermaster Commission Course No - 23 which was conducted from 03 December 2020 to 10 March 2021 was held under two stages at the Army School of Logistics (ASL) and Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) Diyatalawa under the supervision and directions of Directorate of Training and the Army Training Command (ARTRAC). 22 Regular Officers and 09 Volunteer Officers successfully completed the Course No - 23 and passed out as Quartermasters.

The Passing out Parade of Quartermaster Commission Course No - 23 was ceremonially held on 10 March 2021 at the parade ground of VFTS Diyatalawa with the participation of Major General SS Waduge RWP RSP USP ndc psc, Commander (ARTRAC) and Colonel of the Regiment MIR as the Chief Guest.

On his arrival to the venue, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Col HA Keerthinatha RSP KSP psc the Commandant VFTS and he was accorded with a Guard Turnout. Then, he was ushered to the parade square where he had reviewed the parade and received the salute. The parade was commanded by Major MW Wishwamithra psc SLAC, the Chief Instructor of VFTS.

Adding to the proceedings, the probation ranks were adorned to the Warrant Officers who passed out as Probationary Officers. Major General Waduge made a brief address on the occasion and reminded the importance of maintaining discipline at all levels. The Chief Guest together with the staff of the Training School and new QMs posed for a group photograph.
