SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE HONOURS BRIGADIER IDD FERNANDO ON THE EVE OF RETIREMENT

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid its tribute of appreciation for Brigadier IDD Fernando, Brigadier Coordinating (Volunteer) of the Security Forces Headquarters, Mullaitivu in honour of his service rendered to the Sri Lanka Army, at the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force on 29 September 2022.

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force awarded the Senior Officer a special memento with a certificate of appreciation for his commendable service to the Sri Lanka Army on behalf of Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force. The Senior Officer paid his gratitude to the outgoing Senior Officer, Brigadier IDD Fernando for his professional undertakings and his devoted service to the establishment.

The Senior Officer enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 02 August 1989 with the Volunteer Intake 11. Upon commissioning in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 30 April 1990, he was posted to the Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps.

The Senior Officer was promoted to the rank of Brigadier with effect from18 May 2022, and he will retire after an exceptional service to this land as well as the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 02 October 2022. He is an exemplary personality who obliged to his assignments of liabilities beyond the expectations of the organization.

The Senior Officer has been awarded service medals in honour of his distinguished service.

The Deputy Commandant conveyed his best regards on retirement and wished for every success in his future endeavors.
