SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE HONORS BRIGADIER AR OBEYSEKERA ON THE EVE OF RETIREMENT

Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force paid its tribute of appreciation for Brigadier AR Obeysekera, Colonel Coordinating Officer of 14 Infantry Division, Colombo for his dedicated service to the Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army at the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force on 14 September 2022.

Major General D G S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force awarded the Senior Officer a special memento with a certificate of appreciation for his commendable service to the Sri Lanka Army. The Commandant extended his gratitude and honour to Brigadier AR Obeysekera for his professional undertakings and devoted service to the establishment.

Brigadier AR Obeysekera enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 21April 1989 with the Volunteer Intake 10. He is an alumnus of the utmost training establishment of the Sri Lanka Army; Sri Lanka Military Academy – Diyatalawa. He was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 22 September 1989 and was posted to the Sri Lanka Signals Corps (SLSC). After being steadily elevated to subsequent ranks during his long years of service in the Sri Lanka Army, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier with effect from 18 May 2022.

The Senior Officer retires after an exceptional service to this land as well as the Sri Lanka Army with effect from 15 September 2022 on reaching the maximum age of the rank. He is an exemplary personality who obliged to his assignments of liabilities beyond the expectations of the organization.

The Senior Officer has been awarded with service medals in honour of his distinguished service rendered.

The Commandant congratulated him on retirement and extended his wishes for every success in his future endeavors.
