SPLENDOR OF THE SRI LANKA EX-SERVICEMEN’S ASSOCIATION CROWNING ESPRIT DE CORPS

A comprehensive session aiming at the significance of Sri Lanka Ex -Servicemen’s Association that derives innumerable benefits to the credit of its members, successfully concluded under the directions of Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 18 January 2023 at the Multi-Functional Hall in line with the Training Day Schedule of the week.

The lecture was led by Honourary Treasurer of Sri Lanka Ex -Servicemen’s Association (SLESA) and Vice President of Regimental Association of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Major Shanthi Lal Kankanamage (Retd) USP.

The rich culture and traditions decided by its values has kept the SLESA in limelight as a well-respected and independent body that structured for the betterment of the ex-servicemen in the Tri - Forces. The initial objective of the SLESA is to foster a spirit of comradeship among all ranks of Ex – Servicemen in order to provide assistance and facilitate welfare. The Chief Patron of SLESA is His Excellency the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Vice patrons are Commanders of Army, Navy and Air Force.

The SLESA is governed by its own rules constituted and its members are entitled by long standing welfare schemes with a SLESA identity card to recognize them as service veterans.

A gathering of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks presented the occasion, and the programme of the day was underway under the supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Volunteer Force.
