SENIOR OFFICERS IN THE RANK OF COLONEL ARE CONFERRED TO THE RANK OF BRIGADIER

Demarcating a qualitative enhancement of the organization and assuring the progressive upliftment of the cadre grading, eight (08) Colonels of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force conferred to the rank of Brigadier.His Excellency the President has approved the respectivepromotions of the Senior Officers on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.

Upon the promotion, the Senior Officers paid a courtesy call on the Commandant Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 25 July 2021.

Indeed, the felicitation to a one-star rank in the Sri Lanka Army is effected in recognition of the active contribution in safeguarding the motherland and the long service rendered to the organization. This tribute of commendation paid upon your exemplary military career, may be crowned with impended next destination ahead beyond.
