RENDEZVOUS GROUND FACILITY PROSPECTS FOR FUTURE AVENUES

Furthering the facility of utilizing the “Rendezvous Ground” of the Headquarters in the Volunteer Force for cricketing purposes, the foundation stone-laying for the pavilion of the ground was held under the auspicious of Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF)on 19 August 2024 at the proposed arena of the camp premises.

The Commandant, SLAVF who accompanied by the senior officers and officers cut the maiden lump of soil amidst religious rituals accomplished and chanting of Seth Pirith. For the purpose of outsourcing the “Rendezvous Ground”, the double height pavilion with200 seating capacity and other facilities that cater to the cricketing purposes will be institute dwith the expected standards.

The construction process that is merged with architectural and structural designing along with the man power assistance will be endured by the 4 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Engineers, 1 Engineer Services Regiment and 10 (Volunteer) Engineer Services Regiment under the close supervision of Major General WGP Sisira Kumara RSP, the Deputy Commandant, SLAVF.

The occasion was attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Volunteer Force.
