PREVENTION OF NON – COMMUNICABLE DISEASES

The centerpiece of the training day: the lecture themed ‘Prevention of Non – communicable Diseases’ was conducted by Captain M P R A E Thilakarathne who is a Medical Officer belongs to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. The Medical Officer specified in the stream of non – communicable diseases, has been serving at the Army Hospital in Panagoda.

In response to the gradual increase of non-communicable diseases among the serving members in the Army, prevention of non – communicable diseases, which are chronic illnesses that are not infectious and are not spread from person to person,is significantly contributed in shaping a healthy armed force, which assures the combat preparedness.

The programme got underway with the close supervision of Major General B M R J Bandara- the Deputy Commandant of the Volunteer Force. The occasion was attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters in the Volunteer Force.
