NEWLY PROMOTED QUARTERMASTERS RECEIVE INSIGNIA

Amidst commencement of the work in the dawned new year, three (03) Warrant Officers who were commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant as Quartermasters and currently been performing duties in the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force received their insignia from Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 02 January 2023 at the Commandant’s Office of the Headquarters, SLAVF.

The Warrant Officers have completed the Quartermaster Commissioning Course (QMCC) No-5 at the Army School of Logistics (ASL) in Trincomalee which commenced on 18 July 2022, and passed out as Probation Officers (PO). The course was followed by nine (09) Warrant Officers and they have been employed in the respective battalions of the Volunteer Force.

During the occasion, the Commandant centred his views on elucidating them on accomplishing assigned duties and responsibilities vested much obligations in the appointment of Quartermaster under varied streams. Further, the Commandant emphasized on the career traits and values of a commissioned officer and the significance of the opportunity deserves for handful of personnel in the Army.

The Commandant during the interaction extended his pleasure and best compliments to pursue an honoured and loyal military career preserving the highest eminence of a commissioned service which is highly accountable for the nation and the organization.

The occasion was attended by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant, Senior Officers and Officers of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
