Yet another set of newly commissioned officers joins the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force to serve their biddings to the motherland. Portraying the gist of comradeship, the care and affection of Officer Corps of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, the Commandant Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu, accompanied by the Deputy Commandant and all Officers of Volunteer Force Headquarters warmly welcomed the young officers of Volunteer Intakes 61, 61 A and Lady Intake 18 to the Volunteer Force in a brief and meaning full ceremony on 10 January 2023 at the Volunteer Force Headquarters.
The ceremony accords the first of its kind in the history of the Volunteer Force where the Commandant in the brief speech, underlined that honesty, integrity and devotion as the trinity of attributes deciding the depth, breadth and extent of an officer’s carrier. During the programme, budding officers were educated on the basic procedures, core values, proud history and long-held traditions of the Volunteer Force. In furtherance, the new officers were proselytized of the conduct, charisma and decorum expected by a Volunteer Force Officer in their tour of duty in serving the motherland.
At the culmination, the Commandant presented a token of memorabilia to the participants with warm wishes for a great future.
