NEW LEADERS UNDERTAKE RESPONSIBILITY AS COMMANDING OFFICERS WITH ERUDITE ADVICE FROM THE COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

The newly appointed Commanding Officers of the Volunteer Force met Major General Sanjaya Wanasinghe RSP USP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the Volunteer Force Headquarters on 28 December 2022 prior to taking over their duties.

With warm wishes for a very successful tour of duty, the Commandant comprehended the depth and width of the ardent responsibility they were about to shoulder, with sincere emphasis on the role to be played by a leader, a Commanding Officer and a Senior Officer in today’s dynamic and complex Security environment. In furtherance, the Commandant added that the battalions under the Volunteer Force represent, project and reflect the long-held pride of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the need of preserving the same in the time to come. During this formal visit, also the Commanding Officers had an expressive interaction with Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

The Commandant and all ranks of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force wish the newly appointed Commanding Officers the wisdom, courage and strength for a flourishing tenure.
