According a moment of thoughtful for the training day which is scheduled weekly, a lecture on the theme of “Erik Erikson and Life” was taken place in the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force under the directions of Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 27 September 2023 at the Multi-Functional Hall.
The lecture was delivered by Ms. Bhagya Abeysinghe who pursues a career as a Counselling Psychologist and rendering an overwhelming amenity to the society. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and completed her post graduate studies in psychology and counselling. She contributes immensely in the main charisma of National Dangerous Drugs Control Board which is the key national institution for prevention and regulator of drug manipulation in Sri Lanka. Further, she serves as the secretary to the Professional Psychological Counsellors’ Association.
The lecturer focused on the personality development of serving members structured under varied schemata based on the theoretical and pragmatic approaches introduced by the great psychologist, Mr. Erik Erikson. The mode of delivery of the lecture was featured with inspirational comprehension upon the topic touched with soothing music that enhanced the presence of psychological and cerebral well-being.The lecture aimed at educating the audience with respect to the key components that derived the awareness on a blissful and successful life.
The programme got underway with the close supervision of Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - the Deputy Commandant of the Volunteer Force.The occasion was attended by Colonel Training, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters in the Volunteer Force.
