MAJOR GENERAL SN SAMARAWICKRAMA KSP TAKES OVER DUTIES AS THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE

Major General SN Samarawickrama KSP assumed duties as the 30th Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 21 February 2022.

The Senior Officer was received by the Principal Staff Officer, Brigadier PN Godellawatta USP psc, and reviewed a Guard Turnout at the main entrance of the camp premises. Afterwards, the Guard of Honour was accorded in his honour by the troops of the Gemunu Watch at the parade ground of the Headquarters.

In keeping with military traditions, the formal acceptance of duties was executed by leaving his signature on an official document amidst religious rites and rituals and chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ of Maha Sangha at the auspicious time.

Marking his inaugural address, the Senior Officer pledged to accomplish his duties and responsibilities for the betterment of the organization.

Signifying his inauguration of the office as the Deputy Commandant, the Senior Officer planted a sapling in the new camp premises.

A gathering of Senior Officers nominated attended the occasion to congratulate on his new appointment.

The programme of the day was underway with strict adherence to the health directives issued for COVID – 19.
