In alignment with the Clean Sri Lanka Programme: the government-led effort, an environmental initiative supporting a key vision of the Commander of the Army, a dedicated project was launched under the guidance of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF). The project was initiated, and a subsequent phase was successfully concluded on 1 August 2025 at the Headquarters of the SLAVF.
is project sought to inspire both physical and behavioral transformation, fostering greater awareness and participation among serving personnel. By emphasizing the values of environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, the initiative plays a significant role in paving the way toward a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Sri Lanka.
The troops represented all the Branches of the Headquarters attended general cleaning in the camp premises. As a part of the initiative, the assignment of responsibility for the protection and the maintenance of the land areas of the camp premises were expected to be assured in line with the directives of the Commandant SLAVF.
The occasion highlighted the importance of fostering the mindset among the serving members to achieve these environmental goals effectively and stressed that the responsibility assigned to create a sustainable environmental system.
The event was attended by Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks in the Headquarters SLAVF.
