In aligning with the Clean Sri Lanka Programme, a project of environmental initiative on par with a key vision of the Commander of the Army, was launched under the guidance of Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc - the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 03 and 04 July 2025 at the Headquarters SLAVF.
The project of the initiative is to promote a culture of cleanliness and responsibility, driving both physical and behavioral changes and enhancing a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable country.
The “Clean Sri Lanka”: a key initiative set forth by the government pursues to foster social, environmental and ethical transformation across the country, with the active participation of all stakeholders. The "Clean Sri Lanka" project is a nationwide initiative to improve the country's environmental sustainability and ethical standards.
With the objective of ensuring a cleaner physical environment and reinforcing its environmental significance, the troops represented all the branches of the Headquarters attended general cleaning in the camp premises. As a part of the initiative, the assignment of responsibility for the protection and the maintenance of the land areas of the camp premises were expected to be assured in line with the directives of the Commandant SLAVF.
The occasion highlighted the importance of fostering the mindset among the serving members to achieve these environmental goals effectively and stressed that the responsibility assigned to create a sustainable environmental system.
The event was attended by Major General B M R J Bandara – the Deputy Commandant SLAVF, Senior Officers and Officers in the Headquarters SLAVF.
