HANDING OVER OF REFURBISHING CHAIRS

A successful initiative to refurbish and restore a stock of unused chairs was completed, and the items were officially handed over for use at the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 02 January 2026.

This project was spearheaded by Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of the SLAVF. The technical repair and restoration work were carried out by the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Industrial Workshop, Kosgama ensuring the resourceful repurposing of existing assets for the Headquarters' utilization.

The initiative was embarked to maximize the effective use of available resources and to ensure the office environment to support administrative functions. Particularly, refurbishing existing furniture rather than procuring new items, promotes cost efficiency and sustainable resources management within the establishment.

The repaired chairs were handed over to the office by the Commandant, SLAVF with the participation of senior officers and officers of the Headquarters SLAVF. This initiative highlights the continued commitment to improving work place facilities while maintaining prudent utilization of organizational assets.
