FELICITATION AWARDED TO MAJOR GENERAL WGP SISIRA KUMARA RSP

Major General WGP Sisira Kumara RSP graced the customary felicitation ceremony accorded for his promotion to the rank of Major Generalon the invitation of Brigadier JKRP Jayasinghe RWP RSP USP - Centre Commandant, Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) at the Regimental Centre, SLLI on 12 June 2024.

The Sri Lanka Light Infantry honoured and blessed with a further triumph of success of its offspring: Major General Sisira Kumara who reached to a Two Star General in the Sri Lanka Army.

Concurrently, Major General Sisira Kumara assumed the office of the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) as the 33rd successor with effect from 30 May 2024.In honour of his career ascension, a ceremonial Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour awarded by the troops of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry where he was shaped in mounting this career destination were unfolded amidst military formalities.

In line with the day’s itinerary, the senior officer offered floral tribute to fallen war heroes at the war monument of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

A comprehensive remark was formed by the senior officer addressing the gathering spelling out the aspiration of infantry men mingled with enthusiasm that stimulate their values for the betterment of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry.Particularly, the senior officer highlighted on integrating with a qualitative conduct that is a primary core value of a military officer.

Leaving his arrival as a recollection of memory to the Sri Lanka Light Infantry, he made a note of appreciation as a tribute for the good gracious extended upon his elevation of the military career.

The event was attended by Brigadier BJ Lekamge RSP KSP, Brigadier KTP De Silva ndu psc, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks who represented the Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army.
