THE ERECTION OF THE SIGNAL COMMUNICATION CENTER OF THE VOLUNTEER FORCE

The Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu laid the cornerstone for erection of a Signal Communication Center which would be affiliated as a prominent service center, on 27 December 2021.

Laying the cornerstone and cutting the first sod were held in a simple ceremony amidst chanting of 'Seth Pirith' at the auspicious time.

The inauguration of establishing a Signal Communication Center is an accomplishment which gratifies the requirement of the Volunteer Force. This will be established adjacent to the communication tower in the camp premises enhancing all aspects of communications and information systems support. Further, this will facilitate as a dispatch room for the mails of the Volunteer Force, and provide the necessity of a store for the essential signal equipment of the camp premises which require intensive protection and care.

The entire construction of the Signal Communication Center would be processed under the purview of Major General Channa Weerasuriya.

A gathering of nominated Senior Officers and Officers presented the occasion, and the programme of the day was underway with strict adherence to the health directives issued for COVID – 19 pandemic of the country.
