THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE (SLAVF) VISITED TO THE 3RD (VOLUNTEER) BATTALION OF THE SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT

Major General B M R J Bandara, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the 3 rd (Volunteer) Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (3 (V) SLSR) on 05 July 2025 as a part of efforts to streamline administrative and operational functions within the volunteer battalion.

Major General Janith Bandara was accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, and warmly welcomed by Major N Rathnayake, the Commanding Officer of the 3 (V) SLSR.

Following the initial formalities, during a constructive forum dedicated, the Commanding Officer – 3 (V) SLSR delivered a detailed overview on the current undertakings and operational activities of the regiment. The occasion provided a conducive phenomenon for the respective authorities and the under command hierarchy to negotiate with administrative concerns with progressive solutions.

Arriving at the core feature of the visit, the Deputy Commandant addressed the troops emphasizing the combat and personal indiscipline that preserves the honour and the dignity of the Army as the keystone of military excellence. Further, he stressed the importance of active engagement in the functioning process of the establishment upholding the military traditions and values with loyalty, integrity, commitments and professionalism.

To mark the visit, Major General Janith Bandara left a note of appreciation in the visitors’ book. The event was attended by Brigadier N Mahawithana KSP - the Brigadier Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Senior Officers and Officers who represented the 3 (V) SLSR and the HQ SLAVF.
