THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT PRESIDES ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY OF ST.GABRIEL'S NATIONAL GIRLS COLLEGE, HATTON

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP - Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force graced the occasion of annual prize giving of St.Gabriel's National Girls College, Hatton as the chief guest on the invitation of Mrs. H.W.D. Weerathunga, the Principal of the College on 30 October 2023.

The awards ceremony was attended with the official approval of Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu - the Commander of the Army and the directions of Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc- the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

St. Gabriel’s Girls College is the only leading national school in Nuriwaya Eliya District where bilinguals (Sinhala and Tamil) are in the qualitative teaching-learning process.

Upon arriving at the College, the Deputy Commandant was warmly received by the principal of the college amidst customary greetings of the school children.

The event included awards for students who had demonstrated their talents.The Deputy Commandant shared his thoughts in a message on the significance of the effort made by the principal and all the teachers that reflect the diverse and well-rounded education provided by the school, and the event serves as a positive reinforcement for the achievers as well as the pursuers for their future successes. During the prize giving ceremony, he emphasized on the discipline and the knowledge to be inculcated as primary aspects of school children that reward to achieve their goals.

In conclusion, the Deputy Commandant extended his compliments on the teachers and the award winners.
