THE COURTESY VISIT OF THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT TO THE VOLUNTEER FORCE TRAINING SCHOOL

Major General B M R J Bandara, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) paid a courtesy visit to the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School (SLAVFTS) which is the utmost training establishment of the Volunteer Force that aligns a culture of training with continuous learning, on 04 July 2025.

The Deputy Commandant was warmly received by Colonel J A J Jayarathne KSP - the Commandant SLAVFTS on his arrival to the Training School, and he was awarded with a Guard Turnout by the troops of the SLAVFTS.

The visit compiled with military formalities were elegantly fulfilled, and the Deputy Commandant was enlightened on the prevailing academic and non-academic functions of the training school by way of an elaborative briefing furnished by the Commandant SLAVFTS.

A comprehensive remark was made by the Deputy Commandant for the troops gathered in the occasion and conveyed his gratitude and appreciation on the Commandant SLAVFTS and the staff for the utmost obligations that are being accomplished for the betterment of the entire Volunteer Force of the Sri Lanka Army as the training provider.

The Deputy Commandant further emphasized that discipline as the keystone of military excellence, highlighting the intensive obligations to combat indiscipline while upholding the traditions of the Army with integrity and professionalism. Reaching to the culmination of the visit, the Deputy Commandant made a camp visit that allows an assessment of training standards and facilities of the SLAVFTS.

To mark the visit, Major General Janith Bandara left a note of appreciation in the visitors’ book. The event was attended by Brigadier N Mahawithana KSP - the Brigadier Coordinating Officer of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Senior Officers and Officers who represented the SLAVFTS and the HQ SLAVF.
