THE COMMANDANT OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY VOLUNTEER FORCE VISITS 3 (VOLUNTEER) MILITARY INTELLIGENCE CORPS

Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, undertook an official field visit to 3 (V) MIC on 12 June 2025.

The visit was scheduled with the intention of enhancing and streamlining the administrative and operational functions within the volunteer battalions. The day’s proceedings commenced with a drive-past salutation accorded to Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant SLAVF by the troops of the 3(V) MIC and he was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel D I Jayathunge RSP USP psc Isc MI, the Commanding Officer of the 3 (V) MIC.

Following the initial formalities, the Commanding Officer of the 3 (V) MIC delivered a detailed briefing on the battalion's current undertakings and operational activities to the Commandant.

Later on, to mark the visit, Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force posed for a photograph together with the officers and the other ranks of the unit.

Later on, the Commandant SLAVF addressed to the troops of 3(V) MIC. During his remarks, he underscored that maintaining discipline among soldiers is the most essential component of a military force, and what is expect from the Army by civilians of the country. Further, he emphasized the importance of aligning with the Sri Lankan Government’s “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative.

The Commandant concluded his visit at 3(V) MIC with complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Books of the respective battalion, commending its standards and contributions to the nation.

The visit was attended by Colonel Coordinating Officer of 23 Infantry Division, senior officers, officers, and other ranks representing the respective volunteer battalions and Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
