Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, visited 2(V) SLSC at Welikanda in the evening on 12 June 2025.
Upon his arrival, he was accorded a drive pass salutation by the troops of 2(V) SLSC and warmly received by Major N P S M Sisira Kumara psc SLSC. Following the initial procedures, the Commanding Officer of the 2 (V) SLSC delivered a detailed briefing on the battalion's present situation and operational activities to the Commandant.
Afterwards, the Commandant’s address mainly focused on the duties and accountability of a soldier within the military structure, and the Clean Sri Lanka Initiatives introduced by the government. Further, he emphasized serving the nation with a pride of being a volunteer soldier and the importance of balancing work and life. In conclusion, the Commandant encouraged all personnel to uphold the high standards and values that define the Volunteer Force
Later on, to mark the visit, the senior officer posed for a photograph together with the officers and the other ranks of the unit. Further, to commemorate his visit, Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc recorded his appreciation in the Visitors’ Book.
The visit was attended by Chief Civil Affairs Officer of SF HQ (East), senior officers, officers, and other ranks representing the respective volunteer battalions and Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
