Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the 7 th (Volunteer) Regiment of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) which is the arm of the Sri Lanka Army responsible for providing armored combat capabilities, on 13 June 2025.
Smooth administrative functionality serves as a key component that assures a healthy establishment atmosphere for its appropriate existence, and accordingly the Commandant's scheduled visit is primarily intended to assess effectiveness and efficiency of the battalion’s operational and administrative systems.
On arrival, the Commandant was accorded with a drive past salutation, and he was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel M W Vishvamithra psc, the Commanding Officer of the 7 (V) SLAC. Following the initial formalities, the Commanding Officer of the 7 (V) SLAC delivered a detailed briefing on the regiment's current undertakings and operational activities.

The Commandant focused on the defined role of a soldier, highlighting his duties, responsibilities, and accountability within the military and civil contexts while being an exemplification in all aspects as desired by this nation. His remarks particularly was a call to action aligning with the vision of “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative set forth by the government, which is being revitalized under the leadership of the Commander of the Army.
The Commandant’s address powerfully inspired all ranks to rise to their responsibilities with loyalty and dedication and to lead by example contributing positively to the nation’s progress.
The Commandant concluded his visit with a complimentary remark in the Visitors’ Book of the regiment, commending their professional standards and incorporation in functional and administrative domains towards achieving the desired establishment’s aims and objectives.
The visit was attended by Brigadier B A M P Balasuriya RSP - Brigade Commander of 212 Infantry Brigade,Brigadier L Ranchagoda KSP - Brigadier Coordinating Officer, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks representing the Headquarters SLAVF, 212 Infantry Brigade and the Regiment.
