THE COMMANDANT SLAVF PAYS A VISIT TO SLNG REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS

Upon assumption of the office as the 47th Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Vikum Liyanage Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka National Guard made his formal maiden visit to the SLNG Regimental Headquarters on 25 October 2021.

On his arrival at the camp premises, the Senior Officer was warmly received by Brigadier Shean Gunawardena, Centre Commandant of SLNG Regimental HQ, together with Council members, Commanding Officers and several other Senior Officers. Consolidating with the military formalities, the Senior Officer was accorded a Guard Turnout in his honour and was felicitated with an elegant Guard of Honour by the troops of the Sri Lanka National Guard.

Strengthening structural and administrative advancement of the SLNG Regimental Headquarters, the Commandant initiated the construction works of the new solar power project that would indeed facilitate to generate power for the utilization of the camp premises in future. Further, the Commandant visited the carbonic manure production project which exemplifies the organizational integration with the prevailing implementations that have been processed over the country. Currently, the Regimental HQ SLNG is manufacturing carbonic manure successfully.

Signifying his maiden visit, Major General Vikum Liyanage was invited to plant a sapling in the Regimental HQ premises. At the culmination of the event, he shared his views with the gathering and attendees extended their complimentary notes towards his new appointment.

The programme was underwent with strict adherence to the health directives issued for COVID – 19.
