THE COMMANDANT DECLARES OPEN THE NEW ACCOMMODATION FACILITY FOR THE OFFICERS

The Headquarters of the Volunteer Force is exceeding with a high profile construction process under the excellency in commands and outstanding leaderships during the past era, and has been taking its roots on a new soil. In achieving such a greater endevour, the opening ceremony of the new accommodation for officers which the cornerstone was laid on 16 November 2021 was taken place under the auspicious of Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 17 July 2023 at the Headquarters premises.

The warming to the new accommodation for officers got underway with the gracious presence of the Commandant accompanied by a customary procession of cultural dancers, and the senior officer unveiled the plaque in the mid of chanting pirith by Maha Sanga. Symbolizing the abundance of prosperity and bless to the new accommodation, milk overflowing ritual was performed by the Commandant with the gathering of senior officers followed by lighting of the oil lamp.

The precise construction was accelerated in greater extent and accomplished under the blessings and the visionary purview of the incumbent Commandant fulfilling a prolong-felt necessity which facilitates contented accommodation for the officers who serve in the Volunteer Force. The construction process was carried out with the engineering and technical skills of Garrison Engineer Office under Command to 1 Engineer Services Regiment, and the course of erection was closely supervised by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

During the occasion, the attendees were addressed by the Commandant spelling out his unfading views on distinctive volunteering that should navigate to its heights preserving the virtue and the decorum vested in the Volunteer Force. The respective workforce who shed their perspiration and strength on achieving the tasks assigned, was intensively gratified with a warmth of goodwill towards them.
