THE COMMANDANT ADDRESSES THE COMMANDING OFFICERS OF THE VOLUNTEER BATTALIONS

Embracing challenges sprung in the mid of socio-economical dilemma of the present context and in preparation for realizing the essential necessities, amenities and resources, a conference was taken place with the cooperative cordiality of the Commanding Officers presided by Major General Nishantha Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 27 June 2023 at the Conference Hall, HQ SLAVFon the blessings of Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army.

The Commanding Officers who represented the Security Forces Headquarters (West) attended the occasion physically while the Commanding Officers of the other Volunteer Battalions were joining virtually.

The formalities scheduled for the conference were inaugurated with a comprehensive remark on the expected aims and objectives of the discussion by the Commandant, SLAVF enlightening the vision of victorious Army through professionalism, credibility and respect. The discussion was elaborated spelling out the good gracious of the Commander of the Army for the augmentation of ration allowances and welfare facilities which immensely mitigates the financial constraints and well being of the entire members of the Sri Lanka Army. In line with the concurrent quest, the process of restructuring the establishment was pointed out educating the Commanding Officers with necessary guidelines.

Elucidating the conversational points, preventive measures for absent without leave, drugs addictions, accidents, sex abusing, committing suicide, the security of social/digital media used by Officers and Other Ranks in a disciplined context considered as primary values in safeguarding the well essence of the establishment were emphasized with necessary administrative directives.

The purpose of the gathering was addressed under the thematic topics which facilitates the infrastructure facilities of the Volunteer Force.In response to the existing and proposed matters, possible and reachable solutions were hit upon by the senior officers of command with required alternatives.

The Commandant explained on duties and responsibilities shouldered by the Commanding Officers for building the image and structural upgradation of the Sri Lanka Army.The opportunity was created for Commanding Officers to bring out the matters pertaining to Volunteer Battalions and their troops on administration and seeking for solutions through dialogues.

Major General Thusitha Silva KSP, the Deputy Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force attended in the discussion with probable affirmations in generating the imperatives discussed.

Reaching the culmination of the event, the gathering of officers paid a visit to the camp premises.

The occasion was attended by Principal Staff Officer, Senior Officers and Officers of the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force.
