Ensuring the sound administrative mechanism of ten (10) volunteer battalions under the area of responsibility of the Security Forces (Central), the annual administrative inspection conducted by the Headquarters of the Volunteer Force took place on 23rd and 24th November 2023.
A team of officers and other ranks presided by Major General Thusitha Silva KSP -Deputy Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force attended the annual administrative inspection under the directions of Major General U D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc - Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
The routine inspection mainly focused on the functional aspects of its battalions that strengthening the administration of the battalions under command to the Security Forces(Central) and the Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS).
The Deputy Commandant - SLAVF was warmly received by Colonel J.A.J Jayaratne KSP- Commandant, VFTS in the company of Brigadier SKMMNK Mahanthe KSP-Brigadier Coordinating Officer and Colonel Coordinating Officers on his arrival to the camp premises. In accordance with the customary military formalities, the Deputy Commandant was honoured with a Guard Turnout awarded by the troops of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School.
In the wake of the formal proceedings of the administrative inspection, the Deputy Commandant addressed the troops of volunteer battalions highlighting on the scheduled inspection that scaffolds the sound administrative process amongst volunteer battalions.The inspection proceedings of the volunteer battalions namely5 (V) SLLI, 2 (V) SLSR, 3 (V) SLSR, 2 (V) SLEME, 1 SLRC, 2 SLRC, 3 SLNG, 19 SLNG, 10 (V) ESR and 4 (V) SLAOC under command to the Security Forces (Central) were set out at the Volunteer Force Training School on 24 November 2023.
In the course of administrative inspection, the Deputy Commandant made a curtesy call on Major General WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc - Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters (Central). Besides, the Deputy Commandant made a formal visit to the 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME).
The culmination of a two-day administrative inspection marked with a comprehensive account presented by the partakers on the administrative process. During the cordial interaction, the Deputy Commandant paid his tributes to the Commander-Security Forces (Central) and his staff, Commandant - VFTS, Senior Officers and Officers of the respective battalions who extended their fullest collaboration in succeeding the event.
