SRI LANKA ARMY SERVICE CORPS PROUDLY CELEBRATES ITS 76TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, which has dedicated itself with unwavering commitment to the motherland for over seven decades, proudly celebrated its 76th Anniversary on 30th October 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, Panagoda. The event was held with great pride and in keeping with military customs and traditions, featuring a series of ceremonial and commemorative programmes.

The Anniversary celebrations commenced with the arrival of Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, Major General K T P de Silva RSP ndu psc. Upon his arrival, he was warmly received by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier D P K Gamage RSP USP psc ptsc, and Senior Officers of the regiment. Following the reception, a Guard Turnout was accorded to the Colonel Commandant, after which a Ceremonial parade was presented by troops of the Regimental Centre in accordance with military traditions, to pay their respects to the distinguished guest on this special occasion.

Furthermore, during the Ceremonial parade, athletes who have brought great glory to the Corps and the Army by achieving victories for their country in international competitions were recognized. Also Major RBN Rathnayake SLASC who have honoured by the World Military Sports Council with the conferral of “KNIGHTHOOD” and Lt DAN Pabasara SLASC who have awarded the “Sword of Honour” of KDU 38 were recognized.

To mark the significance of the event, the Colonel Commandant was invited to plant a sapling within the premises of the Regimental Centre, symbolizing growth and continuity. Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant joined to pose few group photographs capturing the memorable moments of the celebration.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant attended the traditional tea organized in honour of the anniversary, where he had cordial interactions with the Officers and other ranks present, exchanging thoughts and extending best wishes to all members of the Corps.

A large number of Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks from the Regimental Centre, as well as senior representatives from SLASC units and establishments, Regiment Sergeant Majors, and other ranks, attended the day’s series of events, adding further prestige and significance to this proud milestone in the history of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.
