The 1st Independent Supply Depot was started with the suggestion and recommendation by the Dte of S & T.
It was raised with effect from 1st January 1991 at the Tripoly Market Complex at Colombo 10.
In order to enable effective and essential transportation, ration, fuel, gas and firewood to the Jaffna Peninsula a suitable place in the close proximity of the Airport and the Seaport was needed, Therefore this depot started supply and transport duties at the Tripoly Market with effect from 19th August 1992.
To fulfill the supply requirements and for smooth functioning of AHQ, Div / Bde and units around the Colombo area the 1st Independent Supply Depot subsequently moved to the Kelaniya on 26th April 2014 and presently temporarily located in Ratmalana since 28th February 2021.Read More...
