COMMANDANT
COL DKS KNOWLTON
7 Comp Sqn was established in 15 July 1982 at the Army Headquarters complex to provide transport support to AHQ and under command Brs and Dtes. It was shifted to Malay Street in year 1992 (Present Def Sch premises).
It was renamed as 150 Comp Sqn in year 1998 under command to 1 SLASC. It was again detach out from 1 SLASC in year 2004 and function as Independent Transport Squadron directly under command to Dte of Sup and Tpt.
It was relocated in Maradana Tripoli warehouse complex in year 2006 and again relocated at Kelaniya in year 2014 and at Ratmalana in year 2021 subsequently. At present Independent Transport Squadron was located at Ratmalana holding nearly 1107 mil vehs and 341 hired vehs to provide tpt sp to AHQ, affiliated Br, Dtes, independent estbs, senior officers, VIPs and VVIPs. Further, ITS provide tpt Sp to special foreign and local delegations, govt functions as directed by AHQ.
