OPENING OF WAGGONERS’ OTHER RANKS HOLIDAY BUNGALOW

Waggoners’ holiday bungalow for Other Ranks which was a long felt need of SLASC was constructed in 8 SLASC camp premises. The construction of the holiday bungalow was estimated for Rs 140 lakhs. With the guidance of the Colonel Commandant SLASC and the Director Agriculture and Livestock Brigadier Indrajith Kandanarachchi and the Centre Commandant SLASC Colonel Asoka Ambanpola and with tremendous commitment of the Commanding Officer 8 SLASC Lt Col Shalutha Jayawardane psc and contribution of all ranks, the entire project was completed by Rs. 85 lakhs.

This long felt need of SLASC was fulfilled with the concept of the Colonel Commandant SLASC. Funds for the project were borne from the ORs’ welfare fund which was raised in year 2019. The Holiday Bungalow was declared open by the Brigadier (Log) HQ SLAVF Brigadier DTS Pingamage at the auspicious time on 17 September 2020.
