OPENING CEREMONY OF “SIYAWASA” OFFICE COMPLEX AT REGIMENTAL CENTRE SLASC

The long waited Upper Floor of the “ SIYAWASA” office complex at RHQ SLASC was inaugurated on Thursday, 27 June 2024 by Major General AK Rajapakse RSP, the ‘Master General Ordnance of the Sri Lanka Army’ & the ‘Colonel Commandant SLASC’, on the invitation of the Brigadier NASN Nanumiarachchi the Commandant Regimental Centre SLASC.

On his arrival the Chief Guest was received by Centre Commandant at the newly constructed Main Entrance and after reviewing of Guard Turnout at new Guard Turnout Pitch, all invitees were ushered to the “SIYAWASA” Office Complex in a colourful welcoming procession. After while amid chanting of Seth Pirith by members of the Maha Sangha the day’s Chief Guest unveiled a plaque and entered the new building at the auspicious time of 0933 hr. The construction of new Main Entrance was sponsored by the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch under the direction of the President Mrs. Chandi Rajapakse. The occasion was also graced Brigadier EMGA Ambanpola the Director Supply and Transport, Brigadier KGUT Jayasinghe BAQ SFHQ (East), Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc the Director Engineer Services and many other Senior Officers of the SLASC.

Adding religious value to the program whole night ‘Pirith Chanting Ceremony’ was held in the same day in order to invoke blessings to the New Office Complex, all Officers , other ranks, civilian staff, fallen war heroes and the family members of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps. The Colonel Commandant, The President of SLASC SVB and few other senior members of SLASC SVB also presented to the event. The ceremony was concluded with offering of Alms-giving (Heel Danaya) to venerable Maha Sangha on following day morning.
