New SLASC Colonel Commandant Assumed Office

Brigadier BP Caldera took over office as the 15th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) in a simple military ceremony held at Panagoda at the Regimental Headquarters on Friday (30) and the parade for the newly appointed Colonel Commandant was accorded on Wednesday 21st November 2018.

The new SLASC Colonel Commandant who assumed duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade in conformity with military traditions after he was welcomed by the SLASC Centre Commandant, Brigadier Nanayakkarawasam . Afterwards placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office. As an acclaimed tradition of the Corps, Colonel Commandant planted a mango tree at the RHQ premises.

A Ceremonial Parade that followed saluted the new Colonel Commandant and all troops of 9 Battalions were addressed at RHQ Conference hall, he addressed the Commanding Officers, all Staff Officers, Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the Corps and all rank tea arrangement brought the day's event to end.
