New SLASC Colonel Commandant Assumed Office

Brigadier BP Caldera took over office as the 15^th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) in a simple military ceremony held at Panagoda at the Regimental Headquarters on Friday (30) and the parade for the newly appointed Colonel Commandant was accorded on Wednesday 21^st November 2018.

The new SLASC Colonel Commandant who assumed duties commenced with reviewing the Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade in conformity with military traditions after he was welcomed by the SLASC Centre Commandant, Brigadier Nanayakkarawasam . Afterwards placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office. As an acclaimed tradition of the Corps, Colonel Commandant planted a mango tree at the RHQ premises.

A Ceremonial Parade that followed saluted the new Colonel Commandant and all troops of 9 Battalions were addressed at RHQ Conference hall, he addressed the Commanding Officers, all Staff Officers, Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of the Corps and all rank tea arrangement brought the day's event to end.
