MEDICAL CAMP CONDUCTED BY SRI LANKA ARMY SERVICE CORPS

A medical camp was successfully conducted on 13 December 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) with the objective of promoting women’s health and encouraging early disease detection.

The programme was jointly organized by the Army Service Corps School, Independent Transport Squadron, and the Independent Supply Depot, under the patronage of the SLASC Seva Vanitha Branch, reflecting its continued commitment towards the welfare and wellbeing of ladies associated with the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.

The medical camp was graced by the President of the SLASC Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Ajantha De Silva, as the Chief Guest, whose presence added significant value and encouragement to the initiative.

A total of 50 ladies participated in the programme. The medical camp included special breast cancer screening and cervical cancer testing, with particular emphasis on early diagnosis and preventive healthcare. The medical tests conducted during the camp were valued at approximately Rs. 9,000.00 per beneficiary. In addition, a health awareness lecture on identifying the early signs of breast cancer was conducted, providing valuable knowledge and practical guidance to the participants.

The medical services and the awareness programme were conducted by specialist doctors and medical staff from MOH Piliyandala and MOH Homagama, whose professional expertise greatly contributed to the success of the event.

Members of the SLASC Seva Vanitha Branch, along with senior officers, were also present, extending their support and actively contributing to the successful conduct of the programme.

The medical camp was highly appreciated by the participants and stands as a meaningful initiative in enhancing health awareness and preventive care within the SLASC community.
