COMMENDS, SRI LANKA ARMY SERVICE CORPS ATHLETES FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AT THE 4TH SOUTH ASIAN SENIOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2025

The Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, Major General K T P de Silva RSP ndu psc, commended Sri Lanka Army Service Corps athletes for their exceptional performances at the 4th South Asian Senior Athletics Championship 2025 held in Ranchi, India. Seven athletes from this corps participated in the subject competition.

A felicitation ceremony was held on 03 November 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and the Colonel Commandant personally appreciated the athletes’ dedication and achievements. During the event, he presented cash prices to encourage their continued success in future competitions. The event was attended by Centre Commandant, Brigadier D P K Gamage RSP USP psc ptsc.

The following athletes brought immense pride to the nation, the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps by winning 03 gold medals in this tournament.

Lance Corporal Karunarathne D M H S - 800 m (Gold Medal), promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Lance Corporal Malshan K A P - Triple Jump (Gold Medal), promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Private Silva N M P P - 4 × 100 m Relay (Gold Medal), promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements of these athletes, the Commander of the Army has promoted them to the indicated ranks.
