COLONEL MIP NANAYAKKARAWASAM ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE CENTRE COMMANDANT SLASC

Colonel MIP Nanayakkarawasam took over office as the Centre Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) after a brief religious observance at the Regimental Headquarters on Thursday 28th June 2018 following a ceremonial parade for the newly appointed Centre Commandant.

The new SLASC Centre Commandant on arrival at the premises was greeted to a Guard Turnout and a Ceremonial Parade in conformity with military traditions after he was welcomed by the Deputy Centre Commandant, Colonel KPS Silva. The acceptance of the new office, amidst 'Seth Pirith' chanting of members of the Maha Sangha. As an acclaimed tradition of the Corps, Centre Commandant planted a mango tree at the RHQ premises.

A Ceremonial Parade that followed saluted the new Centre Commandant and all troops of 9 Battalions were addressed. He exposed his future vision for the SLASC. An All Rank tea arrangement brought the day's event to end.
