THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF SLASC ASSUMED DUTIES AS A COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WEST)

The first time in an illustrious history of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, as a Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, assumed office as the 19th Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (West) on 04th April 2026. The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (West) was honored with a Guard Turnout followed by a Guard of Honour by the troops of the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, soon after his arrival at the premises, in accordance with military traditions.

After the formal military honours, to commemorate the occasion, the newly appointed West Commander planted a sapling to mark the assumption of duties and posed for a group photograph. Thereafter, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc auspiciously took over duties amidst religious observances and placed his signature on an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office. Afterwards, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc was invited for an All Ranks Tea.

In conclusion, Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc addressed the troops, emphasizing that energy conservation and the reduction of electricity consumption within the army establishments are essential for maintaining operational efficiency and sustainability. All ranks have been instructed to strictly follow the disciplined energy management practices in accordance with government directives. Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of training and discipline and their integral role in achieving success. He shared his vision for the command and outlined his goals, inspiring the troops to work towards common objectives.

The Centre Commandant Brigadier D P K Gamage RSP USP psc ptsc, along with senior officers, officers, and other ranks of the Regimental Centre, attended the ceremony to pay their respect to the newly appointed Commander Security Forces (West).
