UNVEILED A MONUMENT AT 2 (V) SLAMC FOR UNSUNG WAR HEROES

2 (V) Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps unveiled a monument in Battalion Headquarters at Panagoda for 21 Unsung War Heroes. 2 (V) SLAMC history began with 8-member stretcher bearer team in Ceylon Light Infantry on 29 July 1881. It was named the bearer company in the history of the Army Medical Corps and Later established as Ceylon Army Medical Corps.

The Inauguration ceremony of the monument for war heroes was held at the Headquarter of 2 (V) SLAMC on 04 July 2019. Colonel Commandant Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. President of the SLAMC Seva Vanitha Branch Brig DTN Munasinghe USP, Centre Commandant of SLAMC Brig DG Hewage RSP, Other Senior Officers, retired Senior Officers, retired RSM’s, Other Ranks, and Relatives of war heroes participated and offered floral tributes to the new monument.
