Corps of Sri Lanka Army Medicals Seva Vanitha branch celebrated Vesak festival 2019 as the most sacred holiday on the Buddhist calendar.
The event was taken place in the premises of the Military Hospital Colombo on 18 May 2019. Venerable Ambanpola Gnanathusitha Thera conducted the Dhamma Sermon to all the inward patients in the hospital. In addition to that, they have organized Vesak lantern competition within the hospital wards and branches consist of 53 Vesak lanterns and given prizes for each of the displayed lanterns and also given prizes with money to the selected Vesak lanterns.
The Seva Vanitha branch also organized a “Belimal” drink and “Halapa”&“String hoppers” Dansal. The Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP, President of Medical Corps Seva Vanitha Branch Brigadier DTN Munasinghe USP, Medical Corps Centre Commandant, Director Army Hospital and Senior Officers of Medical Corps and large number of ORs were present for this colorful event.
